S’Albufera de Mallorca is one of the most valuable natural areas in the Balearic Islands and a key destination for birdwatching in the Mediterranean. This natural park is home to up to 303 different species, nearly two-thirds of all those recorded in the Balearic archipelago. During winter, more than 10,000 birds find refuge here, along with large flocks of starlings and numerous migratory species such as swallows, shovelers, white-headed ducks and cranes.
The park features 8 observatories and 11 observation platforms strategically located to allow wildlife viewing with respect and in silence. Each season offers a different experience, with species characteristic of each migratory or winter period.
s’Albufera is much more than a birdwatching site. It is a living ecosystem of lagoons, reed beds and flat paths that invite visitors to explore it on foot or by bicycle. An ideal environment for both birdwatching specialists and anyone wishing to discover biodiversity in its purest form.
